This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to memberships, dues, fees, and recurring payments for SF Social Club / Better IRL, Inc. (“SF Social Club,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By submitting a membership form, signing a membership agreement, activating membership access, attending as a member, or authorizing payment, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy, our Membership Terms, House Rules, and any applicable membership agreement.
1. Membership Dues Are Non-Refundable
Membership dues, initiation fees, deposits, and recurring payments are non-refundable once charged, except where required by law or expressly agreed by SF Social Club in writing.
Membership dues are charged in exchange for access to membership benefits, the club community, member privileges, and the availability of club access, events, and services. Dues are not based on actual usage, number of visits, event attendance, or participation in any specific benefit.
Refunds are not provided because a member does not attend events, does not use the space, misses available benefits, is unavailable during a billing period, dislikes a specific event or offering, or experiences personal scheduling conflicts.
2. Minimum Commitment
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, SF Social Club memberships are subject to a three-month minimum commitment beginning on the member’s membership start date.
By joining, activating membership, submitting a membership form, signing membership documents, or authorizing payment, the member agrees to pay all dues owed for the full minimum commitment period.
Cancellation during the initial commitment period may stop future renewal after the commitment period ends, but it does not waive or refund amounts owed for the remaining months of the minimum commitment.
3. Automatic Renewal
After the initial commitment period, membership renews automatically on a month-to-month basis unless canceled in accordance with this policy.
By joining SF Social Club, you authorize SF Social Club and/or its payment processor to charge your payment method on file for recurring membership dues, approved fees, and any other charges authorized under your membership terms.
The applicable membership tier, billing amount, billing frequency, minimum commitment, and cancellation terms are disclosed before membership activation, checkout, or payment authorization.
4. Cancellation
Members may cancel future renewal by providing written notice to SF Social Club at support@sanfranciscosocial.club.
Cancellation is effective only once confirmed by SF Social Club in writing.
Cancellation does not retroactively refund prior payments. Cancellation also does not waive any amounts owed through the end of the applicable minimum commitment period.
Unless otherwise stated in a signed membership agreement, cancellation will take effect at the end of the then-current billing period or, if the member is still within the minimum commitment period, at the end of that minimum commitment period.
5. Membership Changes, Upgrades, and Downgrades
SF Social Club will not upgrade a member to a higher-priced membership tier without the member’s authorization.
Membership upgrades, downgrades, tier changes, or changes in dues may require a signed form, completed online form, written approval, email confirmation, text confirmation, or other affirmative authorization by the member.
If a member disputes a membership change, SF Social Club may rely on form submissions, electronic signatures, emails, text messages, payment processor records, account records, or other documentation showing authorization.
Downgrades are not retroactive unless expressly agreed by SF Social Club in writing. Downgrades may take effect at the next billing period, after the minimum commitment period, or on another date confirmed in writing by SF Social Club.
6. Availability of Benefits
Membership benefits, events, reservations, rooms, guest privileges, and access may be subject to availability, capacity limits, scheduling rules, blackout dates, approval, safety requirements, House Rules, and operational needs.
SF Social Club may modify, replace, reschedule, limit, or discontinue specific benefits, events, or offerings from time to time. These changes do not entitle members to a refund unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing.
7. Suspension or Termination for Cause
SF Social Club may suspend, restrict, or terminate membership for violation of the Membership Terms, House Rules, safety policies, guest policies, payment obligations, or any conduct that SF Social Club determines is harmful to the club, its members, guests, staff, property, or community.
Grounds for suspension or termination may include, but are not limited to, harassment, unsafe conduct, misuse of access credentials, unauthorized guests, nonpayment, damage to property, illegal activity, abusive behavior, or repeated violation of club rules.
Unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing, suspension, restriction, or termination for cause does not entitle the member to a refund.
8. Billing Questions and Payment Disputes
Members should contact SF Social Club at support@sanfranciscosocial.club with any billing questions, cancellation requests, or refund requests before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback.
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute does not cancel membership, waive amounts owed, or resolve future billing unless confirmed by SF Social Club in writing.
If a payment dispute is submitted, SF Social Club may provide the payment processor, bank, or card network with relevant records, including membership terms, refund policy acknowledgments, signed agreements, form submissions, access records, communications, invoices, payment records, and usage history.
9. Exceptions and Credits
SF Social Club may, in its sole discretion, offer a refund, credit, pause, extension, or other accommodation in specific circumstances.
Any such exception must be confirmed in writing by SF Social Club. A one-time exception does not modify this policy, waive future rights, or create a right to any future refund, credit, pause, or exception.
